The Thales of Miletus Center for Studies is an academic and analytical space specializing in social, political, geopolitical and metapolitical issues.
Our goal is to investigate, interpret and disseminate the processes of global transformation that contemporary societies are undergoing.
We focus on the study of the strategic development of the BRICS+ member countries, with special attention to the Federative Republic of Brazil, as a key regional partner.
We analyze the new correlations of forces between the dominant blocs at the international level, their evolution and their political, economic and cultural implications.
Our line of thinking is nourished by the tradition of the Justicialist National Movement, particularly the third position, which we reinterpret and update in light of the challenges of today's world.
In this sense, we propose a renewed perspective that allows us to understand contemporary global dynamics, providing conceptual tools for decision-making.
We aspire to establish ourselves as a serious, reliable, and rigorous source for teachers, researchers, professionals, and all those interested in understanding international affairs.

International strategic contributions
Russia and Latin America at the International Forum "Russia and Ibero-America in a Turbulent World"
From October 1 to 3, 2025, the seventh international forum "Russia and Latin America in a Turbulent World: From Common Challenges to Joint Solutions" was held in St. Petersburg. It was organized by St. Petersburg State University in collaboration with the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Ekaterina Kosevich, an expert on Latin America and a senior researcher at the Higher School of Economics and a PhD in political science, gave a presentation parallel to the forum.
The topic of his presentation was "Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean after 2022: Barriers and achievements."
The presentation analyzed key trends in the development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries following the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in 2022. The author highlighted that this crisis led to a reassessment of Moscow's foreign policy priorities, with particular attention to countries in the Global South, including Latin America.
Special attention was paid to new business and investment projects completed after February 2022, as well as to the main obstacles to the development of partnerships.
The transformation of Russian-Latin American relations shows contradictory dynamics: on the one hand, the intensification of political dialogue and the expansion of areas of cooperation; on the other, the persistence of barriers related to sanctions, logistics and the specific internal policies of the countries in the region.
The forum has traditionally become the largest platform for experts on interactions between Russia and Latin American countries, bringing together researchers, diplomats and business representatives from more than 30 countries.
The Naukozation project, created by Ekaterina Kosevich, develops international cooperation with think tanks in Argentina and Brazil.
The journal "Naukozation", created and developed by Ekaterina Kosevich , an expert on Latin America and principal researcher at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, has signed cooperation agreements with two research centers in Latin America: the Brazilian Observatory Russia-Latin America of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) and the Thales of Miletus Studies Center of Argentina.
The cooperation of Ekaterina Kosevich's project with the Center of the Russia-Latin America Observatory ( Ruslat ), which operates in the Department of International Relations of PUC Minas (Brazil), aims to develop academic and analytical exchange between Russian and Latin American researchers specializing in the study of politics, economics and international relations between Russia and Latin America.
The Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), founded in 1958, is one of the five largest universities in Brazil and was voted the best private university in the country by the Best Universities Award 2010.
The joint initiatives of Naukozation and Observatório Rússia-América Latina include the preparation of analytical publications, online discussions, and the development of joint science outreach projects.
The partnership between Naukozation and the Thales of Miletus Center of Argentina aims to develop an academic dialogue between Russian and Argentine researchers, as well as to prepare joint scientific and educational materials for publication in journals dedicated to international relations, geopolitics and the development of countries in the BRICS+ format.
The blog 'Naukozation' won the 2023 Competition for Best Science Outreach Work by HSE Staff, confirming its important contribution to the development of science education and the popularization of academic research.
